Stability on Steroids - Ensinger TECAPEEK CMF

SemiconScott Banner

Materials for test socket applications need to a balance between the stability of the spocket after machining and the ability to machine the precise and micro features.

When developing these materials the material technologist needs to strike the right balance as often achieving these properties is difficult as they work against each other in the development of the plastic material.

For example, one way to achieve higher stiffness is to add fiber such as glass fiber. However, machining glass fibers in micro holes such as 0.1mm is not optimum.

Ensinger TECAPEEK CMF white has the highest flexural modulus available in the extruded CF PEEK market at 783,000 psi, yet maintains 3% Tensile Elongation at Yield for precision hole placement making it an excellent choice for applications that require maximum finished product stability.

The product also features low burring when machining micro array patterns due in part to the high temperature of the PEEK base resin. Available in plates, rods and tubes, TECAPEEK CMF is an excellent choice for precision machined challenging applications!
