Compressor Seals & Related Applications

Traditionally, labyrinth seals in turbo compressors were machined from aluminum.  However, as efficiency requirements and MTBR (mean time between repair) requirements increased polymer seals offered a more practical solution.  By offering better mating to the rotating parts and tighter clearances the compressor is able to operate with greater efficiency.
